I’ve got holidays on the brain lately. Surfing Flickr for some atmospheric snaps to share today, I found several of peaceful looking kitchens in far-off places. Don’t these spaces just seem like a home away from home? Happy Friday!

Etsy find: trampoline

I was so happy to come across Kim Ludy’s Etsy shop trampoline this morning. I was in the mood for a little escape, and Kim’s lovely photos have a way of telling a story, making their subject seem like just the treasure you’ve been looking for. Observe, my friends:

Happy Friday, everyone! For today’s photo treat I wanted to share some work by Sharyn Cairns, an Australian photographer I discovered just the other day through Decor8. Her work is beautiful and I had the best time going through her online portfolio, deciding which photos to share here. They’re moody and evocative, with some of the best food styling I’ve seen in a while.

As I’ve mentioned before, I just love the UK mail-order company Toast. Their clothing and home catalogues are so beautifully styled; it makes me want it all! I was happy to stumble across their site today, for the first time since the summer, and find some great new Autumn treats. Home Inspiration: Country Kitchens

From the modern loft kitchens of last week, to their distant relative: this week, it’s the country kitchen’s turn. My dream one has a huge Aga, a solid oak table and some twee checked curtains. It just makes you want to bake a pie, doesn’t it?

I figured Country Living magazine was a good place to start, and I wasn’t wrong. I love the calming colours in this space, not to mention all the cute retro touches:

From the same source, this kitchen is pure American country. I like how the mismatched colours and textures look so authentic in the space:

From country to Coastal Living, a gorgeous beach house kitchen. I’m especially loving the gingham ceiling and the lovely copper pans:

I like this space, from the photostream of thekitchendesigner, for its moody minimalism. It’s country, but modern at the same time:

From the same source but on the other end of the scale, this country kitchen is pure elegance. The marble-topped counter, blue units and huge fireplace make me think of a French villa:

Ahh… a checked floor, a wooden island and a blue Aga. This kitchen is country at its best, from house to home:

Like I’ve said before, I’m more tea sipper than coffee guzzler. I like to start every day with a hot cup of tea, and from the looks of these Flickr images, I’m not alone. Happy Friday, everybody!
