The other day, my boyfriend sent me a link to Three Potato Four, with the simple endorsement that “everything on there is amazing”. People, he’s not wrong. This family-run online shop stocks a fantastic selection of found vintage and art objects, from typewriters and card racks to bags of money (yes, really). Obviously, I’m most interested in the kitchen-y things, so here are my best picks.

I like this glass Milk Bottle Carafe, useful for drinks or as a vase:

The Isak Tulip Cutting Board has the most beautiful print:

A Hovis English Bread Tin makes a great planter, and I think it would be good kitchen storage, too:

I love this vintage Kiwi Slices Ceramic Dish, as it’s just so cute:

There’s a selection of tea towels too, and I think this Utensils one is a good bet:

These colourful Enamel Mugs remind me of camping. These ones are vintage and not recommended for drinking, but could be cute for storing things:

Etsy finds: four favourites

Since today’s a holiday for many of us, I decided I wouldn’t do a full-on shop feature. Instead, I’m sharing four Etsy favourites from the past week. Happy (holiday) Monday, everybody!

I first saw Brookish‘s mugs over at The Kitchn. I’m a huge Pride and Prejudice fan, so I love this In vain I have struggled... mug:

Look: Bodum kitchen ware

I was in John Lewis last week, searching for a pie plate (and just why is it so difficult to find a simple, attractive pie plate?), when I came across something that surprised me. Lost among the food-storage jars, I noticed a tall, sleek number by Bodum. I was under the impression that Bodum only made tea- and coffee- related products, but it turns out I’ve been in the dark. The Danish company now turns out a whole range of kitchen products, and I’ve picked out my favourites from the online shop.

I won’t be replacing my Dualit model with it, but I like that this rubber-sided toaster comes in eight cool colours:

I’m a sucker for mugs of all kinds, especially those that blend form and function as well as this:

I don’t know very many people who keep nuts around for guests, but I do like the look of this sleek nut cracker and bowl:

A large (4-cup) glass measuring jug is one of my kitchen must-haves, and I use mine every day. It’s not nearly as good-looking as this one, though:

I’m somewhat against using paper napkins, but this napkin holder is so stylish- maybe it would work for cloth ones:

It’s not a huge leap from the original Bodum offerings, but if this Chocolatiere doensn’t make you crave cooler weather, nothing will:

New York finds: MoMa store

I’m back from a whirlwind trip to New York City, and in between all the eating and shopping, I managed to scout some kitchen finds. For me, no trip to NYC is complete without a visit to SoHo’s MoMa store to check out what’s new in the design world.

This Linea Oro Nero flatware by Luigi Prandelli has the most gorgeous and unusual black lustre. Hard to see in the photo, but worth hunting down in real life:

I’ve seen these Nest 8 Bowls, by British brand Joseph Joseph around before, but don’t think I ever really appreciated their genius before now. If I had to cook out of a tiny NYC kitchen, I’d definitely invest in this set:

For some reason, I really fell for this fluted porcelain-and-silicone Contrast Mug by Royal Copenhagen. The contrast between traditional and modern materials is charming, and the shape perfect for soup or green tea:
