Today I’m featuring one of my favourite photographers of all time. Those of you who enjoy Jamie Oliver‘s books will know this name; David Loftus has photographed the food superstar’s last five books, as well as doing work for his magazine. But it’s not just food that Loftus turns his lens on. This multi-talented and wildly successful photographer counts fashion, travel and interiors photography among his talents, as evidenced by his portfolio. Enjoy, and have a Happy Friday!

I was delighted to stumble across the Flickr photostream of Elena Karelova recently. Elena is a St. Petersburg-based photographer who shoots weddings, portraits, travel and of course, food. Feast your eyes on these lovely images and get inspired for the weekend ahead. Happy Friday!

Today’s “find” is a bit of a cheat, I’ll admit. Confectioner Whimsy & Spice is the featured seller on Etsy today, and I noticed their lovely photos as soon as I clicked over there. The Brooklyn-based business is run by a husband and wife team; Jenna is the designer and photographer and Mark the pastry chef extrordinaire. Unfortunately they can’t ship internationally (for obvious reasons), but my mouth is definitely watering while looking through thier shop.

If you’re interested in these lovely images sans calories, the couple also plans to open a photography shop, Sweet Fine Day, soon.

To those who read foodie mags or devour cookbooks, the name Con Poulos is nothing new. The work of this renowned food photographer has appeared in Donna Hay magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Bon Appetit and O, to name just a few publications. I love his work for the saturated colours, simple styling and relaxed ambiance it conveys. Perfectly suited for summer, don’t you think? Happy Friday!

I discovered the Blasieholmens Aquarium & Restaurant, or B.A.R., just yesterday via The Beat That My Heart Skipped. A new eatery in Stockholm, Sweden, B.A.R. serves up delicious, timeless meals (with a focus on fresh seafood) in modern surroundings. I immediately fell for the photos of the space and food, so I figured you might, too.
I don’t have a photographer credit for these photos, which are available on the B.A.R. press page, but I wish I did know who was creating such drool-worthy images. These pics are enough to make me book a flight to Stockholm, pronto!

Ok, so Jennifer Causey‘s Simply Breakfast blog isn’t exactly a “find”. Her daily and atmospheric photos of mouth-watering breakfasts are the stuff of internet legend, after all. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some on this lovely Friday morning, does it? Have a great weekend, everybody!

Happy Friday, everyone! For today’s photo treat I wanted to share some work by Sharyn Cairns, an Australian photographer I discovered just the other day through Decor8. Her work is beautiful and I had the best time going through her online portfolio, deciding which photos to share here. They’re moody and evocative, with some of the best food styling I’ve seen in a while.

Gorgeous, no? I’ll leave you with that for the weekend, but be sure to check back on Monday for the first installment of my 2009 Holiday Gift Guide!

I’m abandoning my usual Friday Flickr update for some lovely food photography today. I’ve never had an American Thanksgiving, and I’ve most definitely never had a Southern one, but these photos from Country Living make me think I might be missing out. I love the colours and the presentation here, which perfectly evoke the elegance and cosiness of the holiday season. Happy Friday, everybody!

Happy Friday, everybody! I’m in a picnic mood today, and just as well. We’re having one tomorrow, and most of my day is earmarked for menu planning, food shopping and cooking. If ours turns out half as nice as these found via Flickr, I’ll be happy.
Brunchy goodness, from ephemerama:

I love the look of everything in this picnic by ilandil:

lynn‘s rustic beach picnic takes me back:

Simple and delicous-looking, neil cummings‘ picnic is beautiful:

This Italian-themed picnic from Rubber Slippers in Italy is a little more high-brow than some, and all the better for it:

With only enough counter space for a small pot of chives and another of (rather sad) basil, growing my own food is still a far-off dream of mine. Luckily we’ve got Flickr, and I can live vicariously through others. Happy Friday!
Call me weird, but I like it when my veg still have dirt on them. Carrots and tomatoes from stevendepolo:

Homemade pesto from cafemama:

I can’t imagine growing my own watermelons, but sawako in Japan did:

Garden goodness from jek in the box:

I love these carrots, from Sarah Serendipity:

kpwerker‘s garden-fresh lettuce is lovely:
