Etsy finds: Yellow Mondays

Actually, the light here in London is thin and waning right now, but I’m sure somewhere in the world it’s a bright sunny morning, wouldn’t you agree? If you’re not lucky enough to be there, how about checking out these cheerful vintage finds with me, instead?

I love the photo styling of this vintage gold pyrex dish from tinsel and twine:

Adventures in Vintage offers up this fab retro Thermos pitcher:

A cute enamel teapot in a sunny hue, from Sweetshorn Vintage:

funretro‘s yellow and chrome step stool would help me reach the upper cupboards and look cute in my kitchen:

For those who really like yellow, Macho Machismo has a 16-piece dinnerware set:

Etsy finds: kitchen clocks

One thing every kitchen needs is a big ol’ clock on the wall. Luckily, whether your style is minimal industrial or vintage kitsch, there’s one that fits the bill on Etsy. Check out a few of my favourites here.

Made from an old clay pigeon target, I like this bright wall clock from A Well Dressed Bullet:

PILOTdesign makes loads of modern clocks, but my favourite is the simple Petal Links design:

In terms of vintage, I love this school clock from Mary and Grace. Circa 1960, it’s a style that can go from sleek to retro in a second:

The victorienne clock from uncommon is one of my favourites. The ornate needles stand out on the simple background, which comes in nine colours:

Etsy find: girlscantell

Happy Monday, everybody! Today kicks off the start of a new posting schedule for me at Kitchenisms. From now on I’ll be posting once a day, seven days a week. Each day has its own dedicated topic, and from here on out, Mondays mean Etsy.

I came across girlscantell when searching for oven mitts. I love the hand-printed, diagram-like illustrations and the unique feel of the pieces. There’s a lot here for food-and-kitchen freaks, so read on for my picks.

The oven mitts are all great, but I particularly like this one, with a sewing machine diagram:

I also really like the felt coasters, which comes in sets of four. This one is perfect for food lovers:

This canning diagram tote is perfect for an eco-friendly trip to the farmer’s market:

The napkins come in sets of two, and I’m loving this vintage typewriters design:

As for placemats, I really this version with a diagram of a vintage camera:

Also, check out the girlscantell blog, or follow her on Twitter.

Etsy find: CUR8TOR shop by studiosmith

I found the CUR8TOR Shop while browsing Etsy for vintage pitchers. Studiosmith stocks a nice selection of mid century modern art, ceramics and homewares. Here are some of my favourite friday picks.

I like the daisy pattern on this coffee pitcher. It’s the first piece that caught my eye and looks like it’s in great condition:

This Guildcraft tin is lovely, and would make a wonderful gift for someone (filled with home-baked goodies, of course):

An 11-piece Coffee/Tea set in great nick, with style to spare:

These Swedish compote bowls are my favourite because they’re so interesting. You don’t normally see mid-century design with such intricate detail:

Product round-up: Bread Bins

I don’t actually have room for a bread bin in my kitchen, but I want one just the same. I bake a lot, and a tupperware container, while practical for storage, is just plain unsightly. Not so for these fantastic bread bins, any one of which would be welcome on my kitchen counter.

As classic roll-top designs go, I think this matte black version from Brabantia is pretty nice. It won’t fight for attention, and the size seems reasonable for a small kitchen:

bread one

This 30′s number from Etsy seller sixpence & a blue moon might look like some of the knock-offs you see around these days, but it’s the real deal. I love the bright colour for a kitchen counter:

bread two

The futuristic Gnam bread bin by Alessi is cute and quirky, comes in several colours, and is reasonably priced, too:

bread three

If it wasn’t for the huge size (and price) I’d go for this cream-and-beech ceramic binby Nigella Lawson. The other side of the wooden lid can be used as a cutting board:

bread five

I think my favourite might be this steel bread bin by Joseph Joseph. The size, shape and colours are spot-on:

Etsy find of the day: recipe cards from DingBatPress

I love these hand-printed cards from DingBatPress, perfect for recipes or even as a foodie gift tag.

Green veggies (my favourite):

Etsy find of the day: urban soule

Etsy seller soule paints modern white tableware with edgy and whimsical motifs. I think this crane tumbler would look great as a herb pot on a windowsill:

Or, buy a whole table setting with her  winter trees design:

Check out these great napkins from Etsy seller Avril Loreti.
