I was searching Flickr for pics of people’s refrigerator doors when I came across this photo, of an artists’ community/squat in Lille, France. Not really kitchen-related in itself, but I love the colour scheme that’s going on here. From ljcybergal.

We drink a lot of tea around here, so I was drawn to this Tea Time print by Etsy user bridbird. I also adore her prints of Victorian houses; they remind me of (particularly good) children’s book illustrations.
I know Martha isn’t the first person who comes to mind when you think “cool”, but stay with me. The Kitchn‘s post on grey kitchens earlier this month had me thinking about this versatile shade, and I think few do it better than Martha did at her Cantitoe Corners farm in Bedford, NY.

I think the warm shade she chose works especially well, as do all the accents of white, beige and stainless steel. The immaculate open shelving doesn’t hurt, either.
Over the weekend, Dezeen featured products from the current Design for a Living World exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. I’m heading to NYC on Thursday for a holiday, so I was especially interested in seeing this.
The exhibition, sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, has designers creating practical products from sustainable materials. I particularly like the packaging and grating tool for raw cocoa:

Also, the jugs featuring the organic shapes of chicle latex:

The new issue of Dwell arrived yesterday, and I was immediately struck by this 640 sq. ft home in NYC. The narrow kitchen boasts some great features, includinga slide-out pantry, end-of-counter drawers and under-cupboard storage. Plus, the units are gorgeous. Read the article and see all photos here.

I love this photo of vintage bundt pans, from hownowdesign on Flickr. She also has a great blog and an Etsy shop.
I took a little blogging break yesterday for my boyfriend’s birthday. In the spirit of the celebration, check out these handmade cake stands from whitney smith pottery.
I love the colours of this Cherry Blossom Cake Stand:

The large Bird Cake Stand is particularly special, and it’s on sale:

There’s even a cute cupcake version:

My love of pottery was instilled in me by my Mum, who dragged me to various art shows and artists’ studios as a child. I even took several years of Saturday-morning pottery classes, but I never made anything as nice as this:

From Etsy seller MSPottery, this Chopstick bowl is on sale, and I think it’s the perfect mix of modern and traditional. I wish my own fried rice moments looked this good!
I’ve been thinking about Sengware ever since I first saw it featured on The Kitchn earlier this year. The Seattle-based company makes gorgeous tableware in bright, cheerful colours. It’s all beautiful, but I think the various jugs, pitchers and jars have a particularly beguiling shape to them:

Clockwise from top left: Curvy Pitcher in Heaven, Creamer and Sugar Bowl in Coco, Karma Teapot in Pistachio, Utensil Holder in Tangerina.
Canadian artist Marc Johns creates whimsical (and frequently hilarious) drawings, selling both prints and original art in his shop. I love all of them, but my favourite is the Bowl of batter signed print:
