I’m a huge fan of British lifestyle brand Toast; their clothing and home accessories. I’m especially fond of their twice-yearly House & Home catalogue, which I wait for with bated breath. Usually filmed in some gorgeous, far-flung locale, they just drip with style.
Spring / Summer 2011 is no exception. Filmed on Mediterranean isles, it speaks of sun-washed colours, leisurely lunches and warm summer breezes. Exactly the kind of escape I could use right now, in fact.

Have a Happy Friday!

Karen Mordechai is the multi-talented lady behind Sunday Suppers, a name I’m sure many of you have heard before. The company was founded to provide cooking classes and dining experiences to lucky, lucky people in the New York City area.
Karen herself is both a stylist and photographer of food and weddings, making her well-suited to turning out stunning events. The gorgeous images below are from her portfolio, which showcases a mix of work for her own company and others’. Enjoy, and have a Happy Friday my friends!

So I’m technically a day late with this, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me. After all, I’m not American so I can’t be expected to keep these things straight, can I?
I saw these beautiful photos over on Abigail Ahern’s blog, and they stopped me in my tracks. A beautiful kitchen, mismatched chairs, eclectic lighting and a vintage vibe? Yes, please. I can scarcely believe they’re from the IKEA catalogue; they’ve really been stepping it up with excellent styling lately. I hope you enjoy, and have a Happy Friday and Happy Thankkgiving!

PS. I know I’ve been a bad, bad blogger of late. But school and work are kicking my a** these days, and there are only so many hours in the day. The good news is that classes break up in less than two weeks, so December should be more or less jam-packed with bloggin’ fun.

Hello everyone! I’m sorry it’s been quiet here for so long, school has been keeping me very busy lately. Still, it will be worth it in the end- perhaps when the rooms I share here are of my own design!
Have you seen the new Tine K catalogue? The Danish home wares company has the most beautiful products, and press photos to match. They call the new collection “DARK Autumn”, and it’s moody, atmospheric and opulent. These photos just capture the essence of a cozy-yet-dramatic Christmas, don’t they? Enjoy, and have a Happy Friday!

Hello, everyone! I’ve been a bit of a bad blogger this week- settling into routine after vacation sure is tough! I did mean to post this on the day I left, but a bout of flu the morning I had to fly (yes, it was horrible) kept me from the computer. I’ll be back next week but in the meantime, have a Happy Friday!
It was a post on Decor8 which turned me on to Deb McLean‘s blog, Busy Being Fabulous. The professional stylist shares photos and stories from her day-to-day life, but there’s one category in particular which I love to browse. iPhone Love is where Deb catalogues her beautifully styled and shot photos taken on the hoof with – that’s right – her iphone. You almost won’t believe this:

Katie Quinn Davies is a professional food photographer living and working in Sydney, Australia. While her professional work is wondrous to behold , it’s her personal blog What Katie Ate which has me hooked. It’s rare to see this level of styling in the food blogosphere. Enjoy this beauty, and have a Happy Friday!

Today I’m featuring one of my favourite photographers of all time. Those of you who enjoy Jamie Oliver‘s books will know this name; David Loftus has photographed the food superstar’s last five books, as well as doing work for his magazine. But it’s not just food that Loftus turns his lens on. This multi-talented and wildly successful photographer counts fashion, travel and interiors photography among his talents, as evidenced by his portfolio. Enjoy, and have a Happy Friday!

Today’s “find” was actually discovered via a post on Decor8 earlier this week. A spread on tarts in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living caught Holly’s eye, thanks to the gorgeous and highly unusual styling. Created by Japanese-born and San Francisco-based artist Miyuki Sakai, those “plates” are actually hand-made illustrations. Created with a sewing machine and thread. Can you even believe that? As a food lover and keen sewer, I’m all over this idea:

Miyuki has some lovely work in her portfolio, too. I’m loving all these gorgeous “drawings” of produce, treats and beautifully laid tables:

And with that, I’ll leave you to enjoy your weekend. Happy Friday!

To those who read foodie mags or devour cookbooks, the name Con Poulos is nothing new. The work of this renowned food photographer has appeared in Donna Hay magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Bon Appetit and O, to name just a few publications. I love his work for the saturated colours, simple styling and relaxed ambiance it conveys. Perfectly suited for summer, don’t you think? Happy Friday!

I discovered the Blasieholmens Aquarium & Restaurant, or B.A.R., just yesterday via The Beat That My Heart Skipped. A new eatery in Stockholm, Sweden, B.A.R. serves up delicious, timeless meals (with a focus on fresh seafood) in modern surroundings. I immediately fell for the photos of the space and food, so I figured you might, too.
I don’t have a photographer credit for these photos, which are available on the B.A.R. press page, but I wish I did know who was creating such drool-worthy images. These pics are enough to make me book a flight to Stockholm, pronto!
