I love cute food, and those of you in London who share this affliction might be interested in this. Renowned London bakery Konditor & Cook has launched Cakes by Creatives 2009, asking designers Orla Kiely, Vanessa da Silva, Simon Carter and Jamie Aston to design several 4cm square cakes each. Each cake will be available for a limited time, and 50p from the £2.95 retail price goes to the designer’s charity of choice.

Personally, I’m looking forward to the Orla Kiely cakes, which on sale in October. If you can’t wait, these adorable “Tea Time” ones by watch designer Simon Carter are available now, and the proceeds go to the Salvation Army.

Ever since I found out via The Kitchn that you can make your own cheese at home (what?! people do that?) I’ve been wanting to give it a try. If you’re similarly deluded, you might want to give this cute DIY Cheese Kit from Etsy seller Urban Cheesecraft a try.

This one’s got everything you need (except for milk) and instructions to make 10 batches of Mozzarella or Ricotta cheese. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, there’s a kit for making Goat Cheese, and one for Paneer and Queso Blanco.
